Miaplacidus was a species of Spinosaurus created through genetic engineering in Ozymandias' DNA Laboratory. The species was experimental in origin, though allowed to thrive on board the ship until they became extinct in 2548.
History[]
When Ozymandias' crew began dying of radiation poisoning on their expedition to the planet α2, Cpt. Satoko Evans ordered the ship's computer, MTHR-248 to clone the ship's crew so that the colonisation mission would not end in vain.[2] As the ship was flooded with radiation, however, MTHR was unable to create clones that could survive, and instead began splicing in genes from animal samples in the laboratory which were found to be more resistant to radiation.[2] Seeking to further modify the human clones to survive a variety of harsh conditions, MTHR began growing genetically modified dinosaur species, which would thrive on the ship as a means of testing their adaptability. If genes were found to be advantageous, they were to be spliced into the human-dinosaur hybrids.[2] The Miaplacidus were created from Spinosaurus DNA in storage as part of an experiment in the advantages of an amphibious ecology.[3] Only one known Miaplacidus is known to have been on the ship by 2548, and was responsible for destroying the ship's coolant system, flooding the Energy Core room. It later travelled to the MTHR Sector, escaping before the Energy Sector was destroyed, and fought against Patrick Tyler in the MTHR Room it also flooded. This Miaplacidus was killed during the confrontation.

Miaplacidus shared some physical attributes to the Spinosaurus, such as long jaws filled with sharp teeth, long grasping arms and tall spine. The creature also sports large fins covering its head, akin to a frilled lizard. Miaplacidus is also capable of spitting high-pressure jets of water as a long-range attack.[4][excerpt 1]
Gameplay[]

Miaplacidus serves as a boss enemy fought in the M.T.H.R. chamber, and should not be confronted directly. Its primary attacks are biting and using water blast, while at some points it may also use its tail to whip. WASPs are very useful in this fight since Miaplacidus constant movement means that the player needs to constantly dodging its attacks.
Oftentimes, the creature will swim in the water surrounding the battle area. The creature will sometimes show itself and spray a powerful water blast, dealing high damage to the player.
