Yoshiki Okamoto (岡本 吉起 Okamoto Yoshiki?) (born June 10, 1961, in Ehime Prefecture, Japan), sometimes credited as Kihaji Okamoto, is a video game designer credited with producing popular titles for Konami, including Gyruss and Time Pilot, and Capcom, including Final Fight and Street Fighter II. He later founded the company Game Republic. In recent years, he created the hit mobile games Dragon Hunter and Monster Strike for Mixi.

Career[]

During the mid-1990s, Okamoto served as supervisor, overseeing the development of numerous games. Okamoto made the call in early 1997 to divert staff from Dino Crisis to the Resident Evil 2 team. Following the release of Resident Evil 2 in early 1998, he went on to found Flagship with Noboru Sugimura. Flagship, under Sugimura's leadership, went on to write the scripts for Dino Crisis 2, Dino Crisis 3 and Dino Stalker.
